I … am trapped … imprisoned … in a hanging prison … in the middle of nowhere … black emptiness all around … Nothing but Nothing … Nihil never can bite the lip of angry wenches soft and affable hearts … I’d shave you if you left me to tarnish … slap! … Slap! … Slap! Stop spanking me! … You’re my ex-husband! … I’m a grown woman! … Slander me not with slaps … The spanking stopped … Where was Terry? No one was there …

My emotions … emoted … emboldened … a metallic goose grave … ching! Cha-cha-ching! Dwelt in the pure palace of exiles … elaborate scheme … incendiary … aspiring … fostering … foaming at the mouth … My emotions got the best of me that night … my ex-husband Terry says they always get the best of me … every day … Terry is, of course, an asshole … a cock sucker … not literally, although … you never know, even with your husband … anything’s possible … oh well, and lest I forget forgeries, ex-husband … That was the night I gave Terry the black eye … and the night he told me he wanted a divorce … devoted divorce … Deliverance! … Divine … duck …

Terry was an opportunist man … this future rising, the business friends, thrown to the ground … I turned, cowered to criminals and silenced my hearing with heroin overdoses … But I know … I don’t do acid in my face, hair in my heroin … Terry and I met in London while he was product placement producing an album for one of his British New Wave bands back in the 1880’s or, rather early 1980’s …

At the time I was producing an album in my aunt’s and armored armory living room, now, now, now … no self-promotion … you promised, Sophie … yes, you did … But … Oh, heck, yes so I’ve been published already, several times, sell books fairly well, enough to make a wide-flung career … yes, yes I’m somewhat famous … People know who I am … A twenty yard block on Hero’s Lines. No, not an album … a novel … I am a novelist after all … I was on tour in England promoting my latest book … Florida’s Fury For Fine Females … I forget the name of the band and the song … poor boy Terry …

All I really remember if my agent at the time was a fan of the band … I hated the music … I suppose I wasn’t the most politically plain and pot-marked … but Terry … once finding out who I was … told me he read some of my writing … and hated it … What a wonderful way to start a relationship.
